The prayer meet for filmmaker Kuku Kohli is being held today at Celebration Sports Club in Andheri West, Mumbai. Kohli passed away on August 25 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was known for directing films such as ‘Phool Aur Kaante’, ‘Suhaag’, ‘Haqeeqat’ and ‘Woh Tera Naam Tha’.

Kohli’s wife and veteran actress Aruna Irani arrived at the venue for the prayer meet. She looked visibly shattered as she made her way inside, accompanied by family members.Several members of the film industry also attended the prayer meet to pay their last respects to the late filmmaker. Actors Rajpal Yadav, Gajendra Chauhan, and Sunny Kaushal were among those spotted at the venue. Veteran actresses Madhoo and Poonam Dhillon also arrived to offer their condolences. Kuku Kohli began his directorial career in the early 1990s and went on to work on films across different genres. His filmography includes several notable titles featuring prominent Hindi film actors. His directorial credits include ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ and ‘Kohraam,’ both released in 1991. He subsequently directed ‘Suhaag’ in 1994 and Haqeeqat in 1995.Kuku Kohli later helmed ‘Anari No.1’ and ‘Zulmi’, both released in 1999. His other directorial projects include ‘Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa’, released in 2002, and ‘Woh Tera Naam Tha’, which arrived in 2004. The filmmaker remained associated with Hindi cinema for several decades, with his work during the 1990s and early 2000s forming a significant part of his career.
